Stevie Wonder became the UN Peace Ambassador

Singer and songwriter from the United States of legendary Stevie Wonder Peace appointed as Ambassador of the United Nations, which will serve primarily to support the UN efforts in empowering potential of disabled people in various parts of the world.

Chanter tembang tembang-famous like “I Just Called to Say I Love You”, “Lately” and “We Are the World” was considered the UN as a very inspiring figure.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon at a news conference in New York, Tuesday, admitted admiration for her greatness figure, who, though blind since birth, has so much to contribute to the world.

“Ambassadors for Peace most recent we are someone who admired by millions of people and have contributed to millions of people,” said Ban Ki-moon when he announced her appointment to the prestigious position.

In addition to Stevie, the United Nations has proclaimed 10 other world leaders to carry out duties as a UN Peace Ambassador to raise various issues facing the world community.

Tenth ambassador is a person who is widely known by the public world through their work.

They are actors George Clooney (for issues of peace); actress Charlize Theron (elimination of violence against women); actor Michael Douglas (disarmament); author Paulo Coelho (poverty and inter-cultural dialogue); conductor Daniel Barenboim (peace and tolerance); cellist Yo-Yo Ma (youth); violinist Midori Goto (Millennium Development Goals and youth), Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel (human rights); daughter of the king of Jordan Haya Bint Al Hussein (MDGs and hunger); and chimpanzee expert Jane Goodall (protection of nature and environmental issues).

UN Secretary General noted that Stevie Wonder has consistently beautiful sound and the use of special relationships that were established with the public to create a better world – where human rights and civil respected – as well as improving the living conditions of people less fortunate.

“Stevie Wonder really inspire young kids around the world in an effort to make the achievement despite physical limitations,” said Ban Ki-moon.

The UN also noted how she was very active in supporting humanitarian activities in the U.S. and the world.
